Please reach us at francescocausopsychology@hotmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The best way to contact me and make an appointment is through email. My email address is francescocausopsychology@hotmail.com
If you wish for a referral to come through me, please discuss this with your GP, as they can provide you with a referral letter and potentially a Mental Health Care Plan.
I work on:
I can accommodate clients outside of these timeslots on request, however my flexibility outside of hours is limited and can change.
If you'd like to enquiry for a specific time outside of those listed, please send me an email.
My current fees are of 260 AU$ per assessment or treatment session (standard duration is of 50 minutes). Of these 260 AU$, you will be able to receive 137.05 AU$ back through Medicare, provided you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan.
Whilst my current fees are lower than the recommended rate for Psychologists set by the APS for a 46+ minutes consultation (300 AU$), I can appreciate not everyone can afford my fees. I can offer a concession fee for a percentage of clients who are unemployed and unsupported through other means.
One of my values in therapy is to provide the best service to clients. As such, I only provide treatment when it is within my competencies.
I currently do not see people whose primary diagnosis is of a Personality Disorder, due to research suggesting that the best treatment is Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), in which I am currently not trained in (but interested in training in the near future). I do use some DBT skills with clients, as needed, and can provide treatment to people who have benefited from DBT in the past.
I also am unable to provide support to people in an active and serious crisis, due to the constraint of private practice, which does not allow me the flexibility to support people outside of working hours. If you are currently in an active crisis, please contact Triple 000 or ACCESS Canberra (1800 629 354).
Finally, I am not accepting referrals for Eating Disorders, as it is an area outside of my competencies. I am currently receiving supervision in this area and are able to accommodate clients with Eating Disorders as a secondary diagnosis.
Seahorses belong to the species ‘hippocampus.’ The hippocampus is an important brain structure named after this genus of fish due to its shape, which is similar to that of a seahorse.
The hippocampus is the brain structure where memory is converted from short- to long- term, and is also thought to have effects on inhibition, trauma and anxiety.
It is also a personal nod to Italian culture and Latin language, both close to my heart.
